Palms of Goa - Meard St

4a Meard Street, London, W1F 0EF

Bang in the heart of trendy Soho, the evocatively named Palms of Goa brings to London the distinct flavours of the balmy tropical getaway. While the swaying palms and golden sands might be continents away, its heart warming food and courteous hospitality create the right ambience for an enjoyable meal. Diners' senses are set alight with the flamboyant spice combinations of such Goan specialties as lamb xacuti, with coconut, vinegar and spices, pork mas, with ginger, garlic and spices, chicken cafreal, grilled chicken with green herbs and spices, and king prawns cooked in a special spicy sour sauce. Alternatively, try dishes like prawns cooked with spices and rolled in a chapatti, crab with spinach, cashewnuts and raisins, chicken with almonds, pistachios and cream, and lamb with apricots and lychees.

There?s also the ubiquitous tandoori selection, kormas, jalfrezis, biryanis and thali platters.

Bibinca, the traditional Goan layered cake, delivers the knockout punch. While a glass of lassi would be ideal to complement the spicy flavours, a cocktail or glass of wine would be a judicious option too.
