Panahar is considered to be Atlanta's only Bangladeshi restaurant. Its name refers to an invitation to enjoy a meal at someone's home. More than the colorful interior, it is the food and gracious service that attract people to Panahar.

Diners stop by for an all you can eat lunch buffet or á la carte dinner and choose from a menu of delightful dishes. A platter of chicken and vegetable shingara pastries pave the way for tandoori specialties of tikka moshol-la with succulent pieces of marinated meat, whole shrimp or homemade cheese, or the hearty yet straightforward biriyani.

Entrees consist of curries created in the well-known korma, dhaan-shaag, Niramish maang-sho, shag maang-sho and rogan-josh styles, with a choice of meat or seafood. The bhuna maang-sho of meat stir-fried in a wok with fresh onions, tomatoes, and bell-peppers and the spicy vindaloo cannot be taken lightly! Vegetarians express joy with sautéed eggplant and potato, and the creamy daal makhani. Assorted Indian breads accompany the food.

Customers are invited to carry their own wine and beer that is served without an extra corkage fee.
