Paris Bistro
719 London Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, nr Leigh-on-Sea, SS0 9ST
Paris Bistro has that indisputable French look, with pastel walls, delicate lighting, yellow chairs offset by the dark blue wine glass stems and soft music playing in the background. Tables are set so far apart that an eavesdropper could feel thoroughly deprived but there's plenty of area to accommodate water jugs, glasses, vegetable bowls, et al. The menu, although balanced, throws in a few surprises like bang bang chicken, gambas pil-pil and flat mushrooms with ratatouille topped with Somerset brie. Main courses also merit exploration, with the flavour of grilled corn-fed chicken enhanced by the Serrano ham wrap accompanied by Madeira jus and new potatoes, and apricot and pine nut rack of lamb resting on a potato rösti and served with a rosemary jus.Paris Bistro has that indisputable French look, with pastel walls, delicate lighting, yellow chairs offset by the dark blue wine glass stems and soft music playing in the background. Paris Bistro's loyalists have taken well to the 'nothing in between' menu where you can choose any number of starters and progressively move on to ordering desserts.

REVIEWS OF Paris Bistro
Tracy Bennett (30 May 2009)
We chose this restaurant on the strength of the reviews already posted and we were not disappointed. We visited on a Thursday evening and although quiet, we had a fabulous evening. We could not fault the food, drink or staff in any way. We were met by the owner upon arrival and shown to our table; nice and spacious, not cramped to fit extra tables in! Once we had ordered we were brought complementary 'nibbles' whilst we waited for the starters - nice touch. The food was outstanding and cooked exactly how we had requested it. We had the steak and the lamb and would definitely recommend both. The meat just melted in the mouth and was so full of flavour. The break between courses was just right and our wine glasses were regularly topped up without us even noticing. It is so nice to find a restaurant where the owner's heart is in the business. This restaurant is now at the top of my 'favourites' list and we shall definitely be returning, soon! You should not miss the opportunity to experience such a perfect evening.

I enjoyed a lovely evening at Paris Bistro last Friday. It was a NIB, nothing in between evening, consisting of seven starters and desserts. All beautifully presented and as many as you could manage. A great way to try things you perhaps haven't had before and paying a very reasonable price for the menu. I would recommend this restaurant for its service, food and ambience and the owners are very warm and friendly people. I believe the next NIB evening is the 27th March, so count me in.
