Parsonage, The Description

The Parsonage is housed in a long timber framed building that dates back to 1470 and is among the oldest in Worthing. Formerly the Museum of Sussex Folklore, this Grade 2 listed building comprises three cottages which have now been converted into a popular restaurant that exudes old world charm and friendly hospitality.

Smoked bacon and mushroom mornay gratinated with parmesan and deep fried devilled whitebait with homemade tartare sauce are among the choices for starters. Follow it with cured loin of Sussex pork, grain mustard mash and sage gravy, potted chicken liver and cognac parfait with rhubarb and red onion chutney on toasted brioche, and fillet of salmon, crushed new potatoes with lobster and cognac sauce. Finish with lemon and amaretto cheese cake and warm apricot and sultana crumble.

A true eating out experience friendly staff and a lovely setting, topped off with the best food I have ever tasted. Having tried most restaurants in my time this certainly is one of the best and gives excellent value for money.
