Partenope, La Description
La Partenope offers Neopolitan cuisine to the residents of Edinburgh at modest prices in a friendly atmosphere. Smiling staff welcome you to the restaurant and the seamless service continues through your meal.
Begin with fresh, charcoal grilled scallops served in a pool of pureed cannellini beans and rocket leaves, or fag-ash fran, eggs poached in cherry tomato sauce, baked in the oven with two types of cheese. For mains, try the lobster cooked in white wine, garlic, chilli and served with long pasta tubes, and tuna steak with pine nuts, raisins, garlic, orange and capers. To pamper your sweet tooth you could feast on the cherry cake topped with butter cream, and filled with dark liquor-laced cherries.
For the nine-to-fivers this place offers a venue for late meetings with its assortment of nibbles and house wine. However, after a while it could prove to be tempting to stay on for dinner.

We love this restaurant and it was busy for a week night, which was good for the ambience in this family run restaurant, good value lunch menu. The menu at La Partenope places emphasis on fresh seafood and fine dining, try the scallops in olive oil and garlic, and seafood platters, this was the outstanding choice for main. For dessert I recommend tiramisu; nice restaurant and lovely staff.

A lovely authentic Italian restaurant with no pizza or lasagne on their menu! The waiters are very nice, friendly, funny and all Italian. I would go back to this restaurant in a minute. The food took a while but was freshly cooked and well worth the wait. I would recommend this place readily.
