Pasta Brown - Bedford Street
31-32 Bedford Street, London, WC2E 9ED
The Pasta Brown empire was founded here in 1994, after years of Farmer Brown sandwich bars offering some of the best in London, when it was decided to expand into the restaurant business offering quality pasta based on long experience. They never do things by halves so when you walk in you are left in little doubt about the nationality of this restaurant, nor the warmth of the welcome. An ambitious but thoroughly credible menu starts with the antipasti dishes. Whilst mussels mariniere are on the carte it is the provençale version that catches the eye, with tomato, garlic, chilli and white wine. Toasted ciabatta topped with marinated tomatoes with rocket leaves, or butterfly prawns sautéed in garlic butter all possess an undeniably Italian flavour, and establish the confidence that this meal is going to be the real thing, with no corners cut.The Pasta Brown empire was founded here in 1994, after years of Farmer Brown sandwich bars offering some of the best in London, when it was decided to

The pasta dishes, nearly twenty in number, with penne Pasta Brown as their eponymous leader, bacon, sausage and mushrooms in a creamy sauce, trawl the whole gambit of this much loved staple, giving hard choices to make, particularly bearing in mind the delights yet to come. Try the fettuccine langoustine, cray fish sautéed in garlic butter and dill with a pomodoro and béchamel sauce, closely pursued by the simple but delightful spaghetti carbonara, a rich creamy sauce with bacon and parmesan, followed by a salad of tomatoes, red onions and vinaigrette.

REVIEWS OF Pasta Brown - Bedford Street
Alexandra (18 June 2010)
I so love coming to Pasta Brown in Bedford Street in particular. I love sitting outside and watch the world go by whilst I'm waiting for my usual, spaghetti pomodoro with extra mozzarella. I usually go on my payday when life is good and I can treat myself. I get my glass of wine as I sit down, without asking for it as they know me. I have spent my 30th birthday there. I have taken the love of my life there. And I have taken my current man there as well. I have lots of memories of excellent food and service! I always say thanks to the chefs as I always have a dream meal there. It is not stuck up, but good enough to not have track suit people there. It's informal and classy at the same time. It's relaxed and yet attentive and again, no pasta compares to any other. And the tomato sauce base has it's own magic. It’s truly devine.

Our party of six were well looked after. Super food and drink plus the super service from the staff highlighted a special first day of a long weekend in the capital. Although we were all stuffed after two courses, the complementary banoffi was a lovely treat and very very nice. Thanks.
