Patara - Oxford Circus
7 Maddox Street, London, W1S 2QB
The impressive worldwide chain of Patara Thai restaurants have certainly made a mark in the dining out scene with four outlets in London, some of them located in prime shopping areas and the rest in lesser known locales, but in general they are great places to enjoy modern Thai cuisine. As you would expect from a thoroughly professionally run group such as this, the décor is ultra tasteful and atmospheric with flickering tea lights, delicate spot lighting and carved wood work. On the menu you'll find Thai favourites as well as a good selection of more unusual fare such as sautéed mock abalone with ginger, shitake mushrooms, pineapple and spring onions. Some of their signature dishes include slow braised beef in an aromatic coconut reduction with fresh lime, lemongrass and chilli, and barbequed New Zealand lamb skewers accompanied by curry sauce and pickled vegetables. The impressive worldwide chain of Patara Thai restaurants have certainly made a mark in the dining out scene with four outlets in London, some of them located in prime shopping areas and the rest in lesser known locales, but in general they are great places to enjoy modern Thai cuisine. REVIEWS OF Patara - Oxford Circus
Peter Defty (21 July 2005)
Have visited the restaurant for both lunch and dinner, eating both a la carte as well as specials, and enjoyed it immensely. The staff were very good only adding to the overall experience.
Andrew Carter (24 April 2005)
Have eaten at this restaurant many, many times and at every meal the food has been the same exceptional quality. I have been to many Thai restaurants in the City and West End and Patara is the best by far.
