A well-placed café/restaurant in the Royal Mile adjacent to St Gile's Cathedral, Florentin has recently been the subject of a makeover, revamp, whatever, with the net result that it retains all its old charm and had added to it considerably. The same smartish crowd supports its many indulgences and a few have been added. It is possible to enjoy a light snack or a substantial meal, depending on the mood and the licence means that Florentin comes in handy for late nights after apres theatre. This is not to ignore their wonderful breakfasts, which are worth considering even if only for the quality of the coffee.
