Peasant, The Description
Wright brothers Greg and Patrick have made over a classic old London pub to give Clerkenwell an exceptional gastro pub. Downstairs you'll find a substantial bar and relaxed dining area, whilst upstairs there's a further restaurant enjoying a lighter more airy ambiance but the same interesting menu. Dishes include mezze platters and main courses such as jumbo Mozambique prawns served with a chilli dressing, or baked halibut on a bed of fragrant pesto mash. As you would assume of a gastro pub of this standard you won't be short of excellent wines to choose from, making this a pretty satisfying place to while away a lunchtime or evening.
