Pere Michel is a friendly and informal French bistro that offers a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The staff here make every effort to make you feel at home from the moment you arrive and whilst the décor is nothing to write home about it also benefits from a relaxed lived in feel. The menu holds little in the way of surprises but for reasonably priced French classics Pere Michel is a good choice. Apart from the classic and reliable escargot followed by steak option, the fish and seafood dishes are also particularly good. Reviewed by Linda Buttle
