For a meal out in Thanet I would definitely recommend Phileas Fogg and this is now our 'go to' place when we visit Broadstairs. The staff were friendly and welcoming and attentive to us even as the restaurant filled. All the food that came from the kitchen was very well presented, tasty and generous in portion size. For starters i can highly recommend the Thai fishcakes and the Band Bang chicken and my grandad thoroughly enjoyed the Moules Marinier with fresh bread to mop up the sauce. For the mains my brother enjoyed the full rack of barbequed ribs which was mouthwatering (even to those waiting for their meals at other tables who couldn't take their eyes off it as it passed!!), the Hudson bay lamb was beautifully cooked and lasted no time at all on my husbands plate despite the size! For myself the Chicken Milano served on a bed of rustic mash with fresh vegetables on the side left me satisfied and smiling, ready for some sorbet for afters! Everything is reasonably priced, including the drinks and coffees available after the meal and we certainly felt we could relax and enjoy, letting our food settle with no hurry to leave. I will be going back with my children as i was also impressed with the childrens menu available making it all very family friendly. (I will also be pestering my husband to take me there on our own so we can stroll along the beach afterwards and enjoy the evening!!!). Highly recommened and now a firm favourite.
