Phoenix Bar & Grill, The Description

Being presented with a short but interesting wine list is always a good start when sitting down for supper, if the accompanying menu adds to the stimulus, then all to the good. The Phoenix provides an excellent combination of modern European food; whilst their inspired decision to take on Franco Taruschio - of Walnut Tree fame - as a consultant chef since he retired, has added an Italian influence to the style of the dishes. The Phoenix is modern and airy - with the bonus of a terrace for dining outside in fine weather. The only minor problem is the noise, both inside (due to the acoustics) and outside (because of the traffic), but happy, responsive service helps it to add up overall to a friendly experience.
