Piccolino - Sheffield
4 Millennium Square, Sheffield, S1 2JL
It's bright, it's vivacious and it epitomises Italy perfectly, bringing you a lovely and continental setting, right here in the UK. Chic and modern elements fuse seamlessly with traditional charm and classic brasserie feel, and what you get is an ambience that resonates with a vibrant and contemporary buzz. The food is simply some of the best you can have outside Italy, and the fresh and superb quality ingredients along with the Neapolitan wood stone oven, makes sure that every dish is turned out authentically. The fritto misto with fried squid, king prawn, asparagus and roasted garlic mayonnaise is a great way to begin, and crispy duck with honey roasted apples and Valpolicella red wine sauce makes a delicious main course. It's bright, it's vivacious and it epitomises Italy perfectly, bringing you a lovely and continental setting, right here in the UK. REVIEWS OF Piccolino - Sheffield
Mrs. W (9 December 2010)
We had lunch here today. The service was amazing, we felt really welcome and looked after. All the staff were warm and friendly. The staff was also brilliant with my fifteen month old, providing a highchair and extra plate for her to share our meals. I had the spaghetti napolitana and a rocket and parmesan salad. It was delicious. The restaurant is in a beautiful location with a relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to friends and colleagues.

I had lunch at Piccolino today with clients. Firstly, it’s in an excellent location - the convenience of the city centre, with a lovely view of the Peace Gardens. The food was excellent, I really can't fault it. I had the bruschetta to start, which was piled high with juicy fresh tomatoes. For main I had the anatra arrosto with a side of rosemary and garlic potatoes. The duck melted in the mouth, and there was plenty of it too, the apples complemented the meat perfectly, as did the red wine sauce. The potatoes weren't over seasoned, but the flavour of the rosemary and garlic really came through. Service was faultless, especially the guy serving us - tall bloke with a local accent. He was friendly and attentive, but not overly so, very knowledgeable when it came to the menu and was happy to provide recommendations. I'd love to go back in the evening sometime; as I'm sure it would have an equally pleasant atmosphere.
