Pilgrims Restaurant Description
The Pilgrims in Battle, East Sussex is impressive. It stands in the shadow of the Abbey on the site of a 12th Century monastic hospital, the "New Hall" was built in 1444.
Today, along with a major refurbishment of the main vaulted Hall and restaurant, they have re-opened rooms for private functions. All rooms have their own period features, classic furniture and open fires. At night, the building is candle-lit, making The Pilgrims a magical venue for a private dinner for two through to a reception for more than 100 people.
Open seven days a week, there are two menus - the relaxed Hall menu and a more formal restaurant menu. Along with a full cocktail bar, they serve coffee, teas and a selection of tartes and patisseries throughout the day.

My partner and I visited the Pilgrims in August for lunch. And it was a pleasant experience throughout. We had three courses and not the same, so we tried in fact six different dishes. Each one of them was excellent as was the wine (one had red, one had white). And the price was very reasonable for such a meal in such a nice room. By the way, the waitress was excellent, too.

We actually used the restaurant for our wedding reception last year. It was incredible - the food amazing, the staff outstanding. In fact, I can't think of enough superlatives to describe just how magical the day was.
