Your Reviews of Platform 1

E Allan (18 November 2007)

I had visited Platform 1 and had a fantastic meal with equally fantastic service. I enjoyed it so much, that I decided to take my friend there for her birthday. However, I did not realise that there has recently been a change of ownership along with changed menus and staff.

My second experience of the restaurant was the opposite of the first. The menu is small and basic, and the food itself does not justify the prices they are charging. The service is slow and inefficient. One waitress on her first night at the place, as she told us, was left to run the restaurant by herself. We waited at least twenty minutes for a coffee and another twenty minutes for the waiter to bring and let us pay our bill. My friend is still waiting on her Gin and Tonic to arrive. Unfortunately the waiting staff do not seem very interested in customer service. I wouldn't be visiting the establishment again and I certainly won't be recommending that anyone else does either.

A Barnett (4 November 2007)

My friends and I ate at the restaurant recently on recommendation and were looking forward to the experience. On immediate arrival the service and the appearance of the main restaurant was disappointing. We had phoned ahead and had reservations but it was not acknowledged. We ordered drinks, a main course and found the service to be very lax. The main course that evening was at best mediocre but the puddings when they arrived were tasteless and the waitress struggled to correctly provide us with our order of cream or ice cream, and then spoons. Just when we thought the experience could get no worse we were told that they could not take card payment as their card machine was broken and we were referred to what turned out to be a postage stamp sign on the front door. If you are thinking of pulling up at this platform any time soon think again waiting for a delayed train would be more fun.
