Poachers Pocket Description

Poachers Pocket has graced the market town of Haslemere for slightly more than a decade with its quietly elegant atmosphere and wonderful fresh seafood. Moving ahead with the times, they have emerged as one of the best dining spots in town, and they believe in using environmentally friendly and sustainable produce. Sunday lunch with its traditional roasts has become immensely popular with the local clientele and vegetarian options are also present.

Start with pan fried lamb kidneys and bacon, served with balsamic vinegar, and move on to a delicious main course of slow roasted belly of pork with spiced pears. Fish lovers will enjoy the sea bass with peppers, onions, garlic and white wine while the more meaty steak and kidney puddings hold favour with many. Sweet endings include a large profiterole with coconut ice cream and hot chocolate sauce and a brief wine list brings together favourites from across the world.

Your Reviews of Poachers Pocket

Daniel Dobson (13 January 2008)

I found the restaurant very nice. The staff were friendly and quick, and the food really good. Everything was reasonable too. The three courses and a bottle of wine, which we ordered for two, came at less than £60. If I were to visit the area again, I would definitely return. I highly recommend the place.

Paul Vink (18 July 2007)

I have been there a number of times with work and enjoyed reasonably good food, despite a rather limited menu. Our last visit was a real disappointment however; the staff were rude in front of our guests and objected when we asked for a doggy bag, stating that we would use it for blackmail via environmental health complaints. I have eaten in restaurants of all kinds across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world and never been treated this way. Beware!
