Popeseye - Blythe Road Description

The Pope's Eye is another name for Rump steak, and naturally the restaurant concentrates on being a carnivore's paradise. Wiith this in mind I fully understand that it would not everybody's cup of (Beef) tea. But, if like me, you laugh in the face of gout and marvel at marbled steaks, then this tucked-away haven of all things fleshy and succulent is not to be missed, especially as the quality of their meat is quite superb. Friendly, homely and with a real neighbourhood feel, then The Popeseye manages to create a relaxed and fun environment - do note that they do not accept credit cards.

We had a great time at this place. They are cosy and on a quiet street with an inclusive atmosphere and friendly, honest staff. They have the best quality steaks I have ever had. The emphasis is very much on steak but there are a few cuts to choose from and they have put a lot of thought into the wine list and the homemade desserts. I would recommend this place to any lover of meat, but note they do not accept cards.
