Friendly, welcoming and lively – yes. The food and wine could not be faulted. However, don't go there if you want a quiet evening. We found the noise, the rushing waiters and the impatience of the staff to keep the clientele moving, quite disconcerting. We were asked what we wanted to drink before we'd even sat down; the entrée was served simultaneously with the appetiser; when we asked that the food not be served so fast, the retort was ‘can you see the queue at the door?’ ‘It's festival time’ and ‘there are people waiting’ – I wonder if they think that the most important thing was not for the diners to enjoy their meal but for the restaurant to hurry through it. Perhaps we were there on a bad evening, but we'd think twice about going back, so frenetic was the place.

I have visited Positano's so often that I've lost track of the number of times! It is a fantastic restaurant with a wide variety of food to choose from. I have been for working lunches, dinner with friends, work nights out and cosy dinner's too. The welcome you get is fantastic and the owner makes this place. I just love the bruschetta or the butterflied marinated tiger prawns to start and then steak, pizza or a pasta to follow. The wine list is superb too with the waiter's only to happy to help choose one. You'll never visit another Italian after being there.
