Primrose Cafe Description

Tucked away in a busy cul-de-sac in Clifton Village, Primrose is a café by day and seamlessly dons the role of a bistro in the evening. Fancy tucking into your breakfast and watch the world go by or just want to surprise your colleagues with a coffee toffee cake at tea time, pop in at any time and there's always something for everyone.

By night, step in with that special someone for a candle lit dinner and the butternut squash and amaretto soup with spiced almonds could awaken your taste buds. Mains feature plenty of game with roast haunch of venison, pot roast pheasant and game pie. Then the enticing dessert course arrives with chocolate nemesis and griotte cherries and sticky gingerbread pudding with butterscotch sauce and clotted cream.

The cooking is loyal to the seasons so daily changing specials should come as no surprise and with the Good Food Guide's seal of approval, there's every reason to visit Primrose Café.

Your Reviews of Primrose Cafe

Yummy! (15 March 2007)

The Primrose is a great find - tucked away in a gorgeous part of Clifton Village. The food is fabulous and the staff are all so welcoming. It is especially good in the evenings when it turns from a cafe into a stylish little bistro. The venison with chocolate sauce is incredible!

Madalene Clegg (4 February 2006)

A wonderful restaurant. The menu explains their sourcing policy and their belief in 'slow food'. The food was absolutely delicious, the service attentive and as for value for money, I just wonder how they do it. I wish I lived in Bristol.
