Print 1st Floor Restaurant Description

Starting off life in 1884 as a tea warehouse, the building that is home to Print subsequently adapted to a variety of uses until a £5m refurbishment brought it back into the mainstream of city life recently (2007) as an ultra-stylish design hotel in the vibrant downtown area of Liverpool.

Print Restaurant is on the 1st floor, and the quality of the building has been well used to provide a distinctive setting for dining, drawing on the same high standards that apply throughout the hotel.

Head Chef Dave Chapman offers a menu that drops more than a broad hint of sophistication and amongst the choice of seven starters expect to find natural smoked haddock and potato chowder, confit of duck terrine with roast beetroot and an apple and walnut salad, or a vine ripened plum tomato and mozzarella salad, basil and extra virgin olive oil.

Steaks are a main feature of the restaurant with 21 day dry aged Cumbrian rib eye steak from 8oz to 16oz and points between. All are served with creamed corn, grilled cherry tomatoes, sauté mushrooms and excellent homemade chips. Local colour rides again with homemade sour cream crab cakes with lime and coriander, and Morecambe Bay shrimp.

Desserts of whole deep-fried banana wrap with butterscotch cream sauce and caramel chocolate chips vies for attention in company with a warm pear and almond tart vanilla ice cream.

This is a splendid addition to the 2008 City of Culture.

Your Reviews of Print 1st Floor Restaurant

Leanne (11 February 2008)

We booked a table to celebrate a friend’s getting her dream job. The company was great, but sadly, the venue and the food were not so great. The venue is fantastic with oodles of potential, but the restaurant lacked in atmosphere and the food was average though expensive. The service was enthusiastic, if not a little over friendly, but sadly there were many things missing off the menu due to a failed delivery. I would not choose to return.
