Quartier Vert

Formerly Rocinantes, Quartier Vert is now established as an organic bastion, all the meat is organic, between 60-80% of vegetables, dairy products and other ingredients are also, even down to the wine list. There is a bar and café as well, plus a cookery school, bakery and an outside catering arm. In the restaurant not too much has changed, the style still reflects the Mediterranean and provincial European influences, with fish and vegetables amongst preferred raw materials. In the tapas bar dishes are not limited to being Spanish but are wide ranging around the Mediterranean area, including: marinated grilled chicken strips with couscous and yoghurt dressing; marinated grilled squid with chilli and lemon; tortilla española; moules marinières; salmon cakes with basil and caper mayonnaise or bruschetta of roast garlic and rosemary. The aforementioned wine list contains six organics amongst the 18 listed. All available by the glass, with bottles starting at £12.50.
