Queen's Head Description
A typical handsome Hampshire pub which certainly sells beer, and good beer too but is heavily dedicated towards the provision of what is sometimes referred to as pub grub. All too often there is a derogatory flavour to this handle, but it certainly does not apply here.
Handsomely large helpings of good, well-prepared and mainly familiar food appear by means of brusque but friendly service and the place has real buzz. Such old favourites as steak and ale pie, bread and butter pudding, and genuine custard, like it or not, are frequently called for. The beers are well-kept and entertaining, with the wine list doing the same for those who do not wish to carry bucolic decadence too far.

We ate at Queen’s Head last Sunday. The roast meal was hot and there was plenty of it. I would have preferred vegetables in a separate dish even if it was for the whole table. They had a starter, which was silly as it rather filled you up before main meal. The members of staff were very pleasant and helpful. They were not very busy, but then it was a really miserable day weather-wise.

We went to the Queen's Head for a family meal to celebrate my mum moving back to the area. We used to go there years ago and remember it to be a lovely, friendly place with excellent food. I did take my dad there a few months before and had a poor meal, but thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our meal; the restaurant area was nearly empty and the staff could not really be bothered with us. The food is not inexpensive and I think it is of poor quality. We would definitely not go back again.
