Well off the beaten track with a fine range of very creditable beers and an interesting dining policy. To describe the menu as limited would be an act of charity, nor is the food very often hot (by intent). Puddings are non-existent. But despite all these daunting hardships people love going there and what is on offer makes it well worthwhile. Places like this should be protected for posterity. My own view is that this is something you keep for your own enjoyment. But if I took that stance too often I wouldn't get paid.Modern British
