Quigley's Glasgow Restaurant
158-166 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4TB
Bath Street used to be part of the respectable centre of business and club-side (as in Arts Club) quarter of Glasgow, and in many ways still is. However, a lighter note is creeping in and Quigley's is part of that movement, particularly as downstairs they have 'Lowdown', a trendy new hot spot where clients of Quigley's are automatically guests. On all side the emphasis is on the modern and stylish, and prices do not leave you impoverished for the foreseeable future. Cuisine has more than a breath of the pioneering spirit and may include seared scallops with Ayrshire bacon, progressing to glazed duck with caramelised sweet potatoes and braised pak choi and soy jus, a delicious dish. Lunch costs £10 - £15, with a very reasonable £15 - £25 for dinner.Bath Street used to be part of the respectable centre of business and club-side (as in Arts Club) quarter of Glasgow, and in many ways still is. The house wine at £13.50 may assist you in making any major indiscretions from the wine list, which, for a new restaurant, is particularly outstanding. Many up and coming restaurants of this kind do not last the pace, but Quigley's has the feel of staying power in the vibrant and exciting city that is Glasgow.
