Probably one of the finest vegetarian restaurants in the UK, this is also far removed from the usual rather Spartan image. The dark, heavy floral wallpaper, deep-blue window dressings and lacy tablecloths lend an air of informal elegance to the sitting room and two small, intimate dining rooms. Owners Colin and Louisa le Voi have spent fifteen years changing attitudes in Cockermouth over vegetarian food with their imaginative offerings that sound like strange combinations of flavours and ingredients, but which come off superbly.Vegetarian

Still relishing the delicious meal we had at the Quince and Medlar for my birthday over the Christmas period. Not our first visit and we are definitely not veggies! We are always amazed by the imaginative menu and delighted by the food beautifully presented and served in a lovely atmosphere. Can't wait for next time!

A real treat is in store for anyone visiting the Quince and Medlar - my mum, dad and I are regular visitors to this fantastic restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff are really friendly. I can't wait to return.
