Quince & Medlar Restaurant Description

Probably one of the finest vegetarian restaurants in the UK, this is also far removed from the usual rather Spartan image. The dark, heavy floral wallpaper, deep-blue window dressings and lacy tablecloths lend an air of informal elegance to the sitting room and two small, intimate dining rooms.

Owners Colin and Louisa le Voi have spent fifteen years changing attitudes in Cockermouth over vegetarian food with their imaginative offerings that sound like strange combinations of flavours and ingredients, but which come off superbly.

I have been vegetarian for thirty years and this is the only restaurant I trust without hesitation. The food is first rate and never fails to please, and that's why I dine there regularly.
