Raffles Description

The bygone colonial elegance of Raffles, with its white latticework and potted palms, lends this Kenilworth restaurant an engaging, civilised air. The Malaysian cuisine is equally cultivated, blending Mandarin Chinese, Malay and Tamil Indian influences in a diverse and imaginative menu. The food is served in their very own regal house style with crystal cut glass and fine bone china in a colonial ballroom setting. Tinkling piano music and Singapore Slings keep the mood refined late into the evening.

Wonderful atmosphere with resident pianist. Service very good food excellent. Well worth a visit.

Pure entertainment! Fabulous atmosphere. Whilst you never really forget that you are sat in Kenilworth, the efforts made through every aspect of this establishment to make you feel that you are an ex-pat in Malaysia are thoroughly enjoyable...even if the pianist did not always hit the right key! Singapore Sling will knock your head off but it is brilliant. I recommend going for the fixed price menu and just being bold with your choices to really benefit from the vast array of dishes and flavours as well as including some decent alcohol along the way. It works out at about £30-35 per head on this basis for a 5 course supper if my memory serves me well? Something different to the norm and great fun.
