Rainforest Cafe, The Description
Rainforest Cafe, London's largest family restaurant, is a tropical hideaway in the heart of the West End. It is themed to recreate the sights and sounds of the rainforest with the help of special effects such as thunder and lightning, storms, tropical rain showers and cascading waterfalls. It is also home to a cast of astounding, lifelike, animated inhabitants including chattering gorillas, a menacing tree-bound jaguar, trumpeting elephants, a life-like crocodile and fluttering butterflies.
Try leaping lizard mezze, hummus, minted feta cheese and marinated Greek olives served with grilled rosemary and garlic bread among starters. For main course consider Congo pasta, linguine pasta tossed in olive oil with onions, garlic, chilli, capers, kalamata olives, Parmesan cheese and parsley, in a concasse tomato sauce, topped with rocket. To end, order sparkling volcano, a combination of strawberry and vanilla ice cream with chocolate brownie, banana, whipped cream, marshmallow, cherries, caramel and chocolate sauce, with a sparkler.

My family and I have just dined at Rainforest Cafe and we had the most wonderful of times. I am not sure if the previous reviewer has got the correct restaurant as I do not recognise anything from this review. We were a party of eight people and four kids. We have dined there before in another restaurant of theirs in Florida. The food was wonderful, the service was tip top but the best thing was their concern for my children, one of whom has a severe food allergy. This was no problem to the staff and kitchen and she was able to dine like any other child in a restaurant for the first time ever. This made me feel fantastic as a mum. I would highly recommend Rainforest Cafe any time for a great family and food experience.

I went with my wife and three year old child. We had booked beforehand so we went straight to the table and got a good welcome. It all went down hill after that. The orders took a while to come. The Mexican burger was a chewy lump of meat with poor quality chips, which came with a serving of ketchup in a little cardboard cup. The house salad came with a cold piece of char gilled cheese, which looked cut and tasted of plastic play food. The child’s dessert of a chocolate and vanilla ice cream came as two melting scoops of ice-cream dowsed in sickly sweet sauce. The ambiance was good for our three year old for thirty minutes, but the rainforest had Christmas music playing. What confirmed our opinion was the table next to us of two mums and their two children who told the waitress the food was fine. On leaving one of them apologised to the other that her food had been so poor and inedible. My verdict - go for a drink in the bar and leave.
