Of the fourteen Strettons in England, the one that is home to the Ram Jam is probably one of the best known, due in no small way to the old coaching inn that has occupied the site alongside the Roman road of Ermine Street since the mid-18th century. The 20th century saw the Ram Jam graduate from a rather elegant Roadhouse to a busy bistro and restaurant designed to deal with the travelling public who pass in ever-increasing numbers. On our return journeys from the south of England or France my wife and I often looked at the Ram Jam Inn and wondered what it was like. Eventually we tried a visit, and were so impressed with the quality of the food, staff, Inn and situation, that, on our next journey, we decided to stay overnight - wonderful! We have already booked for another stay in June.

What a splendid old hotel/inn/restaurant of character to stop, whether for just morning coffee or a nice meal. Always good sevice, decent coffee, friendly smile and good menu with fresh local produce. The nice large rooms of character to relax or enjoy a meal in and the outside patio by the orchard for when the sun is out.
I always enjoy a meal here as it is about half way on a 390 mile drive. Plenty of car park space. It is handy having a big roadside sign for the Ram Jam two miles before you get there heading north. It is also easy to get to heading south via Stretton village and the underpass. Do slow down in time to drop in next time you are passing. Enjoy it!
