I wish I had read the last review before booking. Admittedly we both had the same meal - rack of lamb with Lancashire hot pot and red cabbage, but I think it was the most unappetising, lukewarm meal I have had for a long time. The presentation was attractive, which made the meal itself more disappointing. The lamb was chewy verging on actually tough, the hot pot in a pastry case, tasteless and the red cabbage, overpowering. We had to ask for some vegetables, which was unattractively served. The crunchy peas tasted the best on the plate.

We visited the Red Lion last night the first time since it reopened, and have decided not to go there again. The food was barely warm, and the steak that was ordered medium was raw, and the one asked for medium-well was cremated. We found the restaurant cold and expensive for the portion size.
