Until now if you have viewed restaurants housed in hotels with a certain reticence, it is time to change your opinion especially after a visit to Refettorio, the Italian adjacent to Blackfriars underground station. Stylish and classy with warm and attentive service, this is just the place for a spot of lunch with business associates or friends.
The two AA rosettes awarded to them are fully justified as you sample some of their starters such as pan fried scallops with sweet and sour caper sauce and move on to the home made pasta with traditional pork ragù. For mains, you could settle on a beef fillet with Marsala wine sauce and end with a hazelnut and cappuccino crème brûlée.
There are more than 100 types of Italian wines and you are more than likely to be spoilt for choice, since the list of cocktails and other beverages are equally bound to cause a certain dilemma.
