Restaurant 65 Description

Modern British cuisine served to a high standard in a smart environment and good value for money has culminated in the award of a Michelin Bib Gourmand for Restaurant 65 in 2008. So whether it's a quiet evening with a loved one, a family celebration or a corporate luncheon, a tranquil setting for any event is assured.

A typical dinner menu might take in starters of sautéed chicken liver on a pan fried slice of black pudding with seed mustard and herb cream reduction, and warm soft poached hen's egg on a toasted crostini with grilled bacon and a classic Hollandaise sauce. Mains of slow roasted and caramelised belly of pork arrive with bubble and squeak, honey glazed carrots and parsnips, apple compote and sage red wine jus.

Pomegranate poached warm orchard fruits, vanilla ice cream, and forest berry coulis helps you end the meal on a sweet note.

My husband Martin and I first went to Restaurant 65 two years ago on our anniversary, we have been back several times since, for birthdays also on Mother's Day with my mum and the family. The service and the food have always been excellent. My brother and sister are coming over from Australia in July; we will certainly be taking them for a meal.

We got married at the Hemel registry office and took our two witnesses to Restaurant 65 after the service, knowing nothing about the restaurant before hand. The food was delicious and the presentation was simply excellent. We even spoke to the chef personally who was very passionate about his cooking. There are not many decent restaurants in Hemel Hempstead so I would definitely recommend you pay this one a visit. We have actually just booked up again for our first year wedding anniversary and are both looking forward to the special Valentines menu.
