Restaurant at Amerdale House Hotel Description

Tucked away in a little frequented part of the Dales it was a brave act indeed even to open this friendly, well-run hotel. The food is uncomplicated but prepared with great care and containing much that is best in the way of local produce, like marvellous lamb from a butcher in Grassington, the fillet is served with garlic and rosemary. Nor does this exclude the really splendid local cheeses, Coverdale, Swaledale and the coveted Blue Wensleydale. A well-selected wine list offers two house wines by the glass, whilst the deal overall is a very simple one, £34.50 per head for a four course dinner (they are not open at lunchtime). Closed from mid-November to mid-March. Children are welcome, but only if they are over eight years of age.

A super restaurant with beautiful food all made from local produce. I can certainly recommend this hotel; all the staff were very friendly and pleasant and made us feel very welcome, after chatting to the boss I found out it has just undergone a full refurbishment and you can tell. The quality of everything is brilliant; you must visit this hotel, it’s super.
