A stylish establishment offering an interesting range of dishes across a broad spectrum. Plump breast of chicken on creamed cabbage with butter beans and lardons of pancetta may provide a winter warmer. The lemon meringue ice cream and nut brittle is legendary. House wine at £10.95 a bottle.

Driving out one Saturday we came across this little gem of a restaurant. My wife and I were shown to our table by a very friendly and courteous waiter. We had the two course lunch, the mains and sweet were absolutely superb, as was the presentation and taste. We finished off with coffee in the lounge with wonderful views over the countryside, nothing rushed, just very relaxing. All in all it was a very nice experience, with good food and service and a nice ambience. The only sad part was there were only four other diners. I am sure when word gets around that will change.
