The Dukes of Bedford have a long and felicitous association with this part of the world. Part of that was the building of the castellated house, now a hotel, which erupts from amongst the ruins of a Benedictine Priory in great style. It seems likely that Dukes past and present would approve of the handsome hotel with its baronial dining room and the offerings therein. Efforts are not spared to ensure the quality of the food and the attractiveness of its presentation. A good wine list with house wine at £10.45.Modern
