Bodidris Hall is built over the border between Flintshire and Denbighshire. I tell you this not to test your loyalties but rather to give you an inkling of the wonderful countryside that surrounds the hotel, with its restaurant open to the public. The whole place creaks with 600 years of history, wooden panelling, stone mullions, leaded glass and fireplaces that almost achieve the stature of small rooms. The main dining room is without doubt one of the finest rooms in the Hall. Head Chef Kevin Steel relies heavily upon the Hall's own gardens. The bread is baked in-house and meals are prepared from fresh and organic ingredients. I have stayed at Bodidris Hall Hotel on 3 occasions and always had the evening meal, which is absolutely gorgeous, the food, the presentation and the service is second to none. I have fallen in love with the place and have booked to go back. The staff are so lovely and helpful, id love to work there!!

We went at the beginning of December and enjoyed a Christmas lunch from the £5 menu. Not expecting much it was a pleasant surprise to see a sumptuous plate filled with turkey, mash, roasters, winter vegetables done to a turn and a great piece of stuffing. A lovely meal at twice the price. The £5 menu is not served in the restaurant but in the Elizabethan bar, but it was more than comfortable. The starters and desserts were £2.50. The starter I had though, of poached egg and black pudding, was not great, but the prawn cocktail my guests had was full on. Well done to the chef and staff!
