Restaurant at Bramhall's of Ashbourne Description

Bramhall's of Ashbourne can be found just a stone's throw from the town's historic market place. Originally a traditional coaching inn, it is now a welcoming AA rosette restaurant with bedrooms that have been awarded four AA stars. The interior reflects the history of the 250-year-old building but offers a blend of period features and contemporary style.

You could stop by at Bramhall's for a bite at the bar or enjoy a drink in the Edwardian drawing room.

The chef uses fresh local ingredients to create simple seasonal dishes such as red mullet and scallops with summer vegetable nage; a main course of locally reared lamb rump accompanied by red onion tarte tatin, lamb faggot, and minted new potatoes, and a dessert of pannacotta poached rhubarb and shortbread. The menu is complemented by an ever-changing specials board that showcases fresh fish and local speciality dishes.

Fine wines, local ale, and spirits complement the food well.

Your Reviews of Restaurant at Bramhall's of Ashbourne

Jane (4 March 2009)

We had our wedding meal at Bramhall’s in February - everything was absolutely wonderful. The food is stunning, and the service is second to none. The staff are attentive and polite, the food locally sourced. They even ordered in special wine for us! We cannot recommend Bramhall’s enough. We'll certainly be going back there as soon as we can.

Fastfred3 (21 February 2009)

We had a wonderful meal on Valentine’s night. Everything was perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed it. If you haven't tried Bramhall’s yet - better get in quick, it's getting very popular.
