Burpham House dates back to the 18th century and has recently changed hands. This is a lovely, gentle place and by all accounts the new owners are continuing in the spirit of the Walkers. The cooking is careful and involves ingredients of integrity combined to produce a generally modern range of dishes, with some of the great classics to leaven the whole. The wine list is enterprising, affordable and house wines start at £14.
