Restaurant at Dunkerley's Hotel

I ate there on a Saturday in early September. I was told on arrival at the bar that the restaurant was fully booked, but the helpful bar manager managed to get us a table that would otherwise have been unoccupied until much later. The oyster and crab starters were both superb, skate main with samphire, absolute heaven, and lovely crème brûlée. The service was attentive but not obtrusive, and the little amuse bouches were sent between courses gave a really nice little touch. The hotel looks nothing special from the outside, but this place obviously deals on its reputation, which is very well deserved.

We have dined at Dunkerley's on many occasions both in the restaurant and the bistro; we have dined as a couple and also with friends. We have had special occasion meals, birthdays and with the Association of Men of Kent and Kentismen. Whatever the event, the food has always been exceptional, the service friendly, efficient, and always very polite and professional. The menu has something to suit every taste, fish being a speciality, the wine list comprehensive and reasonable in price. Although we live locally Janet treated me to an overnight birthday treat. The room was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and a magnificent sea view. If you want to give a really special treat and enjoy being spoiled with top class service and food in a 5 star environment with a truly family feel go to Dunkerley's you won't regret it.
