Restaurant at Farthings Hotel Description
The Farthings Country House Hotel and Restaurant nestles in the midst of the wild and fertile countryside of Somerset, yet it is only three miles from the M5 and with easy access of Taunton. It is an elegant Georgian house situated in the historic village of Hatch Beauchamp, set in its own extensive gardens, and enjoys an excellent reputation for the warm hospitality and opulent comfort it provides for its guests.
The restaurant, overlooking the beautiful gardens, has been awarded the AA's Red Rosette for its originality in the use of local produce and for its wide range of fine wines. Chef John Cameron prides himself by using only the very best of local ingredients available.
The Farthings comprises beautiful grounds and gardens sporting orchards, roses and even their own poultry for your breakfast eggs. They have self catering apartments, a cottage and beautiful spacious rooms to meet your needs for tranquillity and relaxation. A lot of the ingredients come from their gardens, and they also use produce from neighbours and many of the farmers nearby.
The Hotel provides a delightful home-from-home, a thoroughly tranquil place to relax and unwind. They have a comfortable lounge, a crackling fire, a well stocked bar and three elegant dining rooms; it also offers ten individually designed and spacious en-suite bedrooms.
The roaming countryside of Somerset is a treasure chest filled to the brim; from orchards of apple to ferment into your chilled glass of cider to the flocks of geese, forest, river and canal. There are numerous wildlife areas, protected and abundant with badger, leaf and bird. The National Trust have numerous properties in the locality, there are walks, cycle paths and touring routes to astound. The Blackburn Hills are on the doorstep, ancient Market Towns of Ilminster, Chard and Ilchester are close by and there are gardens of splendour and tranquillity to visit.

Your Reviews of Restaurant at Farthings Hotel
Sue Mountstevens (11 December 2006)
This hotel is a gem! It has the most lovely atmosphere, the food tastes home cooked and the staff and ambience are superb, I like vegetarian food and was not disappointed, all the ingredients are local, some even coming from the back garden. I have eaten at the Castle but would choose Farthings any day.
