Restaurant at Lochside House

The restaurant at Lochside House offers the warmth and hospitality that the hotel itself is known for. Set among the scenic beauty of twenty acres of land and overlooking two beautiful lochs, the location is breathtaking. Not to be outdone, the interiors are also striking, with burnished wood finish and artistic lighting. The décor, in pleasant shades of cream and brown, is offset by the decorative artwork on the walls.

Both the spacious bar lounge and the dining area are well laid out, offering privacy without being segregated from all the action. One can choose to sit by the fireside and enjoy the cosy warmth, or perch by the window and enjoy a marvellous view of the Anton Hills. There are some cosy nooks for intimate occasions, and the staff will be happy to help make these memorable.

The restaurant offers several menus which have been carefully put together by Nicola Irving, who believes there must be something for everyone. Apart from the day's specials, one can start with the Lochside chicken liver parfait wrapped in bacon with a port and redcurrant preserve with toasted sun dried tomato bread or the tower of Haggis and black pudding and move on to a fillet of haddock or stir fry duck.

There are a range of the staple steaks and other grilled dishes to choose from, which can be had with a choice of Lochside mushroom cream sauce, peppercorn sauce, curry cream or onion gravy sauces. In addition to vegetable stroganoff, which is featured on the menu, there are other special diet and children's menu on request special vegetarian menu on request. Light bites and meals are served from noon to nine pm, and the restaurant also serves high tea between half past four and half past six every day.
