A truly wonderful place, as long as you aren't allergic to chintz!

Rooms are 'over-stuffed' but comfortable, if a bit warm for my taste (the windows do open). Staff are the epitome of helpful but unobtrusive, and without being subservient. Full marks for this.

The environment - a rise overlooking Lake Windermere - is really wonderful. One can sit - indoors or out - and enjoy the changing views whatever the season, appreciating some of what the Lake District has done to inspire many of our great poets and writers.

The food. Well, what can I say. I've eaten over a dozen dinners at the Miller Howe over the last few years and never been disappointed. Food is interesting, well presented and superbly cooked.

You will have gathered by now that I like the place.

Try it. I'll be very surprised if you come away disappointed, or feeling that you didn't get very good value for money.
