Restaurant at Moonfleet Manor Description
Funny how you look at Moonfleet Manor (a name like that has to be straight out of Dornford Yates) and thoughts of those handsome houses in Jersey come to mind. Surrounded by 5 acres of beautiful countryside; looking over Chesil Beach and Lyme Bay, Moonfleet has an enviable location. It is good to report that the gastronomic response to that challenge has been more than adequately met. There is emphasis on flavour, simplicity and really good local produce. The Verandah Bar, with its striking views over Lyme Bay, has been described as possessing the atmosphere of a colonial safari camp. Wine list leans heavily towards the New World, with house wine at £12.

I was recently pleased to have the opportunity to re-visit this charming old hotel as I was staying nearby and was delighted to report that the same high standards still prevail, well done and full marks.

On reading Mark's review, I decided to book a table to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. We were both impressed by the whole experience Moonfleet Manor provided. Food was fabulous, my wife enjoyed the vegetarian dish, my Salmon & chive mash delicious. Desserts were all appealing, difficult to choose. Even a year on, I would say Mark's review is still spot on. We had a great day. Thanks Mark & Restaurant-guide for useful info.
