Restaurant at Mortons House Hotel
East Street, Corfe Castle, BH20 5EE
Whatever your reason for visiting this side of Dorset, accommodation at the Mortons House Hotel adds to the pleasure immensely. This lovely 16th century building exudes charm, and built in the shape of an 'E' to honour Queen Elizabeth, it has recently undergone some marvellous refurbishment, creating a comfortable and luxurious space while not losing out on the original allure. The elegant restaurant has won numerous accolades including 2 AA Rosettes and a recommendation in the Michelin guide. The à la carte begins splendidly with a complimentary amuse bouche, compliments of the chef, and moves on to starters of pressed terrine of smoked eel and baby leek, lemon curd dressing and baby capers.Whatever your reason for visiting this side of Dorset, accommodation at the Mortons House Hotel adds to the pleasure immensely. The à la carte begins splendidly with a complimentary amuse bouche, compliments of the chef, and moves on to starters of pressed terrine of smoked eel and baby leek, lemon curd dressing and baby capers. Main courses could come in the form of roast loin of venison, braised red cabbage, mushroom casserole and Dauphinoise potatoes and the dessert list can easily sway a fervent calorie counter with the likes of the chocolate opera with hazelnut and coffee ice cream latte. The wine list is pleasantly global bringing numerous choices amongst the whites and reds.
