Restaurant at Paris House
Woburn Park, London Road, Woburn, MK17 9QP
Whilst strolling through scenic Woburn Park you might spot a deer grazing lazily in the lush green turf and a charming mock Tudor styled building, which was originally created in 1878 for the Paris exhibition. Later this timbered structure was trundled over the Channel, to eventually adopt a new role as home to the Restaurant at Paris House. Following the footsteps of the late Peter Chandler, who formerly ran Paris House and built its reputation on superb French cuisine, the inspirational cooking embodies the culinary ethos that exudes passion. The 'retro' menu du jour that evoke memories of the past may include classics such as smoked ham hock terrine, the flavour accentuated by dry pineapple, quail eggs and chips, or a confit pork belly.Following the footsteps of the late Peter Chandler, who formerly ran Paris House and built its reputation on superb French cuisine, the inspirational cooking embodies the culinary ethos that exudes passion. REVIEWS OF Restaurant at Paris House
Charles Le Boutillier (3 November 2011)
i have used the paris house over the years on a number of occasions, many times when it was under the original managment of the Roux Bros andmore recently when we had a family meal and last month my sons 18th birthday dinner, the staff are very friendly, the surroundings welcoming, and the food excellent, it is one of our most favoured resturants and we will be back
Erica (8 October 2009)
We just had lunch at the Paris House for the first time today. It was a special occasion as my little sister turned thirty. We had a wonderful time and the food was superb. I ate from the set lunch menu, which I thought was of great value at £25 including coffee and petit fours and had plenty of choice. I had smoked salmon and sea bass but did wonder if I should have had the pork belly which looked very good. Plus, I had to have the chocolate truffle cake, if only to be polite. However, my theory that chocolate is always the best option may not have worked in this case, as mom had the soufflé which looked amazing. The restaurant is in a simply stunning spot but, it was also really busy for a Thursday lunchtime which created a nice atmosphere. Plus, my three month old niece came too and the staff couldn't have been kinder. There was no awkwardness and they even offered to hold the baby. Five stars from me and we'll definitely be going there again.
