Restaurant at Red Lion Description
A 16th Century country village inn on the banks of the River Wharfe, situated on the Dalesway - the whole area is a veritable walkers' paradise.
The Red Lion has a traditional oak-panelled Dales bar with real ales and an extensive wine list (they were wine pub of the year for 2003), they serve food daily in the bar - plenty of oak beams and wonderful log fires in winter. They also have a restaurant (AA rosetted), with all of their meat purchased locally from nearby farms.

What a fantastic location this pub is in - right on the river in a lovely little Dales village. It's worth the journey for the views alone. The bar menu is good value. The restaurant menu is pricier, but the quality of the locally sourced produce is worth the expense. I fancied something different so went for the pigeon and very much enjoyed it. It is definitely worth a visit if you're over Skipton way.
