Restaurant at Riber Hall Description
This prestigious, Derbyshire country house set in peaceful and picturesque countryside dates from the 1400s. Cuisine awarded AA 2 rosettes - recommended by all major hotel and restaurant guides. English classical and French cuisine - superb wines, especially New World. The bedrooms are appointed to a high standard with period furniture and many thoughtful extras. The tranquil old English country walled garden with many fine and rare plants are full of bird life. No children under the age of ten.

Excellent food, with superb service from the polite and un-intrusive staff. Very good menu, I had Roquefort cheese soufflé, duck and coffee. My "guest" had beef. Superb food, well cooked, nice portions without being either skimpy or OTT.
Only criticism is its VERY quiet in there and unless you speak in a whisper all and sundry will tag onto your conversation, however to be fair there were only about 3 couples there. It was Sunday evening at 9pm after all.
Bottomless water and coffee. 8/10, would visit again and recommended.

Absolutely outstanding. The food is imaginative and excellently presented. Service is relaxed and discreet. Rooms very good, which makes an excursion into the winelist a good idea. Pamper yourselves and stay the night. Romantic locations don't come much better than this.
