Restaurant at Rowton Castle Hotel Description

This handsome castle, about 15 minutes out from the centre of Shrewsbury, is a perfect setting for a relaxed evening amidst truly baronial surroundings set in the lush Shropshire countryside. The panelled dining room makes a suitably grand background for your meal which might consist of a starter of terrine of wild boar, followed by a grilled loin of swordfish drizzled with sweet red pepper and chilli jelly, topped with aubergine chips. The coconut brulee could make a suitably freshening finish, with its rich and creamy character. A good wine list with house wine at £12.50.
