Bertie's Dining Room holds an AA 2 Rosette award for its outstanding modern European food and service. A spectacular location in an enchanting historic castle surrounded by parkland is fitting for this fine dining room with its sparkling chandeliers and oak panelling.
Equally suitable for quiet romantic meals, special occasions or business dinners, Bertie's has a comfortable mix of the traditional and modern. Ingredients for the a la carte menu are locally sourced from fresh produce whenever possible and include fish from the North Wales coast, local Welsh lamb and beef. An extensive wine list is available.

I've stayed at Ruthin Castle on a number of occasions, the last being April 2006. The food is always fabulous - I recently had a delicious wild mushroom risotto with baby roast turnips and green beans - and I really appreciated the little extras, such as an appetiser, mid-course sorbet and hand made petit fours with coffee. The restaurant had just been refurbished and the chandeliers looked really impressive, although the room was a little chilly. Tables are beautifully laid up with crisp white linen, fresh flowers, candles etc and staff are always friendly and attentive. Prices very reasonable - £23.50 fixed price three course menu - and a good wine list. Highly recommended.
