The Salthouse Brasserie is situated within the Salthouse Harbour, Ipswich's newest 4 star hotel. The brasserie has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for food, and offers a superb Mediterranean menu in a relaxing setting beside the marina.

Whether you wish to dine inside the brasserie and admire the artwork collection or choose to sit outside, weather dependent of course, and view the yachts, you will be assured of great surroundings and interesting food.

The food was overpriced and portions were small. They didn’t have a separate menu for children and our son took the offer of chicken and chips, which he could not eat as the chips were overcooked. Parking could be a problem and it appears that their car park cannot house all visitors.

We had Sunday lunch at the Salthouse, choosing from their two or three course set menu as the a la carte was not available, which we didn't mind. The atmosphere was quiet but pleasant. The service was friendly and very efficient. Most importantly, we enjoyed the food. There was a nice variety of dishes with good portions and everything was nicely presented. Despite the comment from the earlier review, we didn’t find the food unimaginative, quite the contrary considering what we felt was a reasonably modest budget. Compared with most pubs’ Sunday lunches we have had recently we felt the value for money was excellent. We would certainly go back and take friends with us, as long as the menu is varied on a regular basis.
