Restaurant at Sandgate Hotel Description
M. Samuel Gicqueau and his English wife have now moved on, and the 19th century, 14 bed-roomed hotel was bought in January 2003 by Lois and Peter Hamilton- Slade. They have been busy doing some gentle refurbishments to bring their personal style to the existing façade and bring a new and fresh look to Sandgate.
They have also changed the style of the food - and reduced the prices considerably - with an international, seasonal menu. Bibendum, one of the UK's most respected wine merchants, supplies their wine and they are proud that the 'Wine Bar' supports their local Kent brewery, Shepherd Neame, the UK's oldest brewer.
